The Bronstein lab is now joined by Sophie Balint, the first full-time graduate student to join the lab. Sophie is a research fellow who is currently working towards her PhD in Health Informatics with a focus in precision and personalized medicine. She previously earned her Bachelor of Science at the University of Washington in 2023. She then worked as a research assistant with Dr. Bing Brunton, and went on to be a research coordinator in the Trauma Recovery & Resilience Innovation group with Dr. Emily Dworkin.
Sophie will be leading several projects applying causal discovery algorithms to investigate the influence of theoretically relevant variables on experiences of psychopathology and risk analyses. In the future, she hopes to illuminate and target shared transdiagnostic cognitive factors and symptoms to increased treatment intervention efficacy.
Outside of research, Sophie enjoys walking her dog, Titi, around Minneapolis and cooking.
